Terry & Charlotte making music together.
Terry & Charlotte have both been singing for more than 30 years and consider their talent as a blessing that they enjoy at every show. They both have had a lifetime of love for music and their love for each other is obvious in their performances, both individually and blending together in numerous duets.
Terry began his music career in the early 70's with Terry Crane & The Blue Diamonds, singing classic country and old time rock 'n roll, in and around Wichita and throughout the state of Kansas. In 1982, Terry opened a 1000 seat theatre in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, called The Country Shindig. He sang two shows per day, seven days a week for nearly eight years. During the winter months, he was on the road opening for some of the most well-known country artists of our time (Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Reba McEntire, Barbara Mandrell, etc.). He is by far one of the most dynamic country singers in the Midwest, and has an awesome ability to "entertain" an audience.
Charlotte has been singing country and gospel for most of her life, and was a part of her family gospel group The Four Generations for ten years in the late 70's-80's. They sang throughout the Wichita and surrounding area, as well as Colorado and Oklahoma where they ministered in music for entire church services, many private events, and gave their time to numerous Retirement and Care Homes in the Midwest. More recently Charlotte & Terry were a part of her Dad's band, The Country HeartBeats where the focus was primarily good old country and gospel music.
Charlotte's Dad, Gene Palmer, passed away in 2006, and after much consideration,
Charlotte and Terry decided to continue using the name her father had chosen.
They reorganized the band, and today The Country HeartBeats consists of
six other musicians: lead guitar and vocals, lead & rhythm and vocals,
bass and vocals, steel and lead guitar, drums and vocals, and fiddle with
Terry & Charlotte on vocals. Working together, they provide a wide diversity
for perfoming Classic "Rockin" Country, Classic Rock 'n Roll,
and Gospel for a show you won't want to miss.
Charlotte and Terry perform nearly every week in Wichita or the surrounding
areas. For booking and scheduling information email us or contact Charlotte at (316) 305-1008.
Music is very personal for Charlotte and like so many artists, it started at home.
Some of my greatest influences in music (gospel and country) began early in my life with my own Dad. He literally had his guitar in his hands anytime he was relaxing, and I'd listen to him play and sing. When I was a little girl he always sat on the edge of my bed and sang a song to me so I'd go to sleep!! (I was the only girl... don't know if that had anything to do with it??)
He was amazing, and I wished I paid more attention during my early adult life at what I could have learned from him. But, I grew up in a family that always sang... my Grandmother (Dad's mother), and Great Grandmother (Dad's Grandma).... so I come by it naturally to love music.
Back in the early 70's when I really got into country I learned and listened to Sammi Smith, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dottie West, Skeeter Davis, and of course, Patsy Cline. As the years passed, I loved Emily Lou Harris, couldn't get enough of her music, Martina McBride, Dolly Parton, and Reba. Even the guys influenced me, I loved Jim Reeves, could listen to him all day long. Conway Twitty and many more. Today, I'm listening and performing songs from artists such as Carrie Underwood and Gretchen Wilson.
